TTA members were honoured to be addressed by the Mayor, as Keynote Speaker to the TTA AGM, on 13 June 2017 at the newly launched and stunning Capital Menlyn Maine Hotel. Councillor Msimanga's address allowed members to learn about the Mayor's plans envisioned for Tshwane as they relate to tourism and the audience was impressed with the Mayor's knowledge of the city's tourism offering and position. The Mayor also stressed on the importance of public and private partnership and cohesion in order to reach the goal of growing tourism. He certainly believes that the capital city has potential and that we should sell unique packages that will draw visitors to the city amongst other initiatives! The TTA looks forward to further engagements with the Mayor and his office.

For the first time ever, the Attractions Africa Conference graced the Jacaranda City this year at the National Zoological Gardens of SA where delegates met amid the wide array of beautiful animal species found outside the zoo's conference facilities and enjoyed a breath-taking sunset view of the city after an adventurous cable way ride to the highest point of the zoo to enjoy cocktails overlooking the city!
The conference was filled with innovative and amazing content from highly skilled and informative international and local guest speakers, case studies that educated, and lessons on the different and unique ways that can enhance attraction offerings in order to improve visitor experience while raising revenue.
PDF slides from most of the presentations have been uploaded onto the conference website. Please click on the presentation you are interested in to access the content. You can view the 2017 participant list and the conference photos.
